On 27 June 2026, the Mozambican community living in Italy organised a reception to celebrate the 51st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Mozambique, a milestone of profound historical and national significance for all Mozambicans.
The event was held under the patronage of the Embassy of the Republic of Mozambique to the Holy See and the Embassy of the Republic of Mozambique to the Italian Republic, reflecting the shared commitment of both diplomatic missions to fostering unity within the Mozambican diaspora and strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation with the host country.
The reception brought together members of the Mozambican community, representatives of the diplomatic corps, civil and religious authorities, friends of Mozambique, and numerous invited guests in an atmosphere of fellowship, solidarity, and national pride.
During the celebration, participants paid tribute to the values and achievements associated with Mozambique’s independence, proclaimed on 25 June 1975, honouring all those who contributed to the building of a free, sovereign, and peaceful nation committed to sustainable development.
The programme also featured cultural performances, traditional music, and Mozambican cuisine, offering guests the opportunity to experience and appreciate the country’s rich cultural heritage.
